1. Out of Control 2. Bubble of Uncertainty 3. Not in Control 4. Song of the Advaitin

Out of Control

I take myself to be the body

Yet, how little I am in control

Circulation happens

Respiration happens

Digestion happens

Excretion happens

All happens

With very little of my say

Disease happens out of the blue

I could slip and fall

And break my leg

All happens

With very little of my say

I am not in charge of my body

Yet I take it to be myself

God, this mystery you have woven

Is marvelous indeed

Though I must say

A little bit annoying too

That I am not in charge, God,

And Thy Will rules me and all.

Bubble of Uncertainty

Anytime anything can happen to the body

Anytime anything can happen to the mind

Of course within the bounds of karma

But who knows what one's karma is

To anticipate the future with any certainty.

Not in Control

At what moment

What thought may arise

So why talk of free will.

Song of the Advaitin

What body

What mind

No such things

No, no, no

No such things

What world

What God

No such things

No, no, no

No such things

I the Self alone exist

As pure Being-Consciousness

Revelling in myself

Needing naught else besides.
